Believe in yourself

Well I finally did it! I had my first exhibition of my work last Saturday and what a wonderful day we had.

Lots of people came and gave me some wonderful feedback, all of it very positive and I can not tell you how much it all meant to me.I have wanted to paint all my life but over the past 40 years I have concentrated on my career and on my family and home.Eventualy at the age of 60 my wife and I have decided to undertake some life changing steps to fulfil both our dreams.

I have always been a dreamer but now that I have seen the reaction to my work I am certain that I can make the dream of being an Artist a reality and I am so excited about the years to come.On the day of the exhibition 2 wonderful young couples actually bought a picture each for their homes and they were very excited at being the first to own an original of mine.A very big thank you to Robert and John for believing in my work.

There are many people who have been an influence on me and my dreams but none more so than my beautiful wife who has guided and supported me over the last 35 years and has retained her belief in me even when I doubted myself.None of this would have been possible without her and she should take all the credit for what comes in our future.Debbie I Love You very much.

The picture below of York,s magnificent Minster was the first canvas  I have ever sold.Acrylic on canvas I believe I captured the historic significance of the view but in a modernistic way,the colours reflecting the beauty of those seen in the stained glass of the Cathedral .The sky as I imagined it should always look to do justice to the significance and illuminating power of this place.I hope you like it too.Iwill upload more of my work later and thanks for looking in.
