Working Title

Finding a Title for my paintings for me often proves more mentally draining than the process of creating the work itself.Its as though the title is meant to tell the viewer everything about the work and possibly the Artist themselves .
For me what the viewer sees in my paintings should not be influenced by a Description created by me.perhaps after studying a work the potential owner should be allowed to “Name” the painting or perhaps a Title adds little or nothing to a work and left blank it would not influence other viewers of the work wherever the painting hangs.
I am often asked as I am sure are all Artists where the inspiration or direction came from in any or all of my works.Quite simply they are all in my mind somewhere,they are a lifetime of momentary images stored like photographic negatives,memories,feelings,some recaptured with a defining clarity and some so fleeting that so many of them combine and I doing so influence the “abstract”
The narrative in a painting can surely only be that of the Artists life.
